At Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips, we continually ‘skim’ the oil to remove carbon particles and fines to keep it as clean as possible. At least once daily (dependant on use), we also filter the oil through efficient filter pads to ensure that the oil is kept as clean as possible, which in turn ensures that the food products we fry are kept free from fine carbon particles.
We regularly change our oil to keep the quality and standard of our food at it’s highest for our customers.
At Penaluna’s, our old oil get’s collected from us and recycled into Bio-diesel at a near by plant.
Quality Sustainable Frying Oil
Penaluna’s Famous Fish & Chips use the award winning Frymax all-vegetable oil.
Frymax, one of the great brands within the fish and chip trade that have been in business for over 60 years.
The leading all-vegetable frying fat has built an enviable reputation for quality and consistency and has earned its place as the frier’s favourite which has been passed down through generations.
The brand which was originally owned by Peerless became part of the Pura Foods range in the 1980s. It is currently owned by Olenex but continues to be produced at the Pura Foods plant at Purfleet in Essex. The hallmark of the brand is its quality and consistency, attributes which are fundamental to a successful food business. “We always remember that we are supporting your business and our objective is to provide you with a consistent, high quality frying medium to help you produce a great-tasting meal that will bring your customers back again and again,” said Andrew Marriott, brand and account manager for Frymax.
The quality of the crude oil has always been paramount but today’s environmental concerns also focus on the source of the oil. The raw materials used in Frymax are fully sustainable and have been certified to come from Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)-certified production units. The crude oils are fully traceable under the ‘segregated’ (SG) supply chain system.
As a market leader in refined vegetable oils and fats, serving vital needs for food and energy, Olenex is committed to the responsible, sustainable development of agriculture.
They believe that through innovation, investments in research and infrastructure, and partnerships among stakeholders along the agricultural value chain, agriculture can meet global needs while creating a better standard of living for growers and agricultural communities.
They are committed to doing their part to foster a sustainable palm oil chain. As Olenex expands its participation in the growing global market for palm oil – a key ingredient in consumer products ranging from cookies and crackers to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals – they are working with stakeholders to help ensure that crops are cultivated and procured responsibly.
In June 2013 Olenex and New Britain Palm Oil Limited announced a long – term agreement to provide wide range of fully traceable and segregated sustainable palm oil to European customers.
